A Mindful Approach To Learning

Holistic Life Schools embody a unique approach to learning. This approach enriches the mind, body, and spirit; which represents the whole child. We accomplish this unique approach through our eight building blocks that further promote a fun, nurturing and brain-stimulating environment.



CRITICAL THINKING


Bloom’s Taxonomy is utilized to provide the framework for peacekeepers to promote critical thing and higher ordered questions.




EXPLORATION


Peacemakers are free to explore using STEAM and Inquiry-Based Learning practices.




MOVEMENT & EXERCISE


Peacemakers become mindful of their bodies through movement meditation.




NUTRITION


Peacemakers practice mindful eating and learn nutritional education for optimal health.








SLEEP HYGIENE


Peacemakers learn sleep hygiene and the importance of adequate rest to restore the body for optimal health.




MEDITATION


Mediation, reflection, and guided imagery helps peacemakers to become more resilient under stress, more present to the moment and better able to focus in the midst of distraction.




CHARACTER BUILDING


Through books, discussion and modelling of the peacekeeper; peacemakers will learn good character such as, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions.




MINDFUL OF EMOTIONS


Peacemakers will learn how to self-regulate, self-awareness and interpersonal skills through meditation and peacekeeper’s assistance. As a result, peacemakers will learn to be intentional opposed to being reactive.
