Our Philosophy

Mindfulness teaches peacemakers to monitor and then modify their behaviors

Are you seeking an innovative child care and primary school in Virginia Beach?

Wouldn’t it be great if your little peacemaker (student) could learn skills to help them to calm themselves such as deep breathing or progressive relaxation to help them build resilience in preparation for a world with many challenges?

Wouldn’t it be great if your little peacemaker (student) could recognize that they are about to have a meltdown, throw a tantrum or hit their little sister/ brother before they do it?

Mindfulness teaches peacemakers (students) to monitor and then modify their behaviors. Resilience helps peacemakers to maintain those modified behaviors.

MINDFULNESS

The state of being attentive.

Meditation is used for exercise and training in attention. Meditation is an exercise that teaches us mindfulness and increases the ability to be attentive, present and aware.

Meditation is a work-out, the brain is a gym. The more we engage in meditation, the more attentive, present and aware we will become.

RESILIENCE

The ability to recover from setbacks.

Mindfulness cultivates and sustains resilience. We teach our peacemakers the importance of being mindful in efforts for them to recognize signals that their body, mind and spirit sends to them.

For example, attentiveness to the body helps us to recognize when we need rest and food.

THE PEACEKEEPER’S PROMISE

is to nurture mindful and resilient peacemakers.

Our passion is to build a culture where peacemakers learn to be mindful and resilient.
